Ride
Beausoleil Trails

Scenic Beauty

Short and sweet so no need to rush.  Enjoy the pretty views of the brook where the trail snakes along its shore.  Grin and bear the noisy bit beside Highway 15.

Safety

The route as mapped requires travel on the shoulder-less Route 535 for approximately 3.5 km. To avoid cars completely, riders can turn around at the road and do an out-and-back.

If natural features are scary, you might want to walk a few short sections where roots, rocks or mud might be present.

Fun Factor

Some small hills and a variety of trail surfaces keeps it interesting. This route likely makes a better bike ride than a walk — the straight stretches zip by on a bike but might become monotonous at walking pace.

Driving directions:

Drive 15 km north of Shediac on Route 133/134.  Upon arrival in Cocagne, turn right on Route 535 and continue 600 metres.  Turn left on Rue Villa Street and park in the large lot of Club 50.

Route description:

Leave the parking lot of Club 50 and turn right to get to the trail head.

The route as mapped combines many different surfaces.  The first 4.9 km uses a wide crusher-dust trail suitable for everyone.  It is a non-motorized trail reserved for bikes and feet.  Turn around here at the parking lot if you wish.  If you prefer to complete the loop, carry on to the paved Route 535, checking out the Cocagne wharf as well as the community garden.  Once off the paved road, the route continues on a shared use trail (ATV, bike, hike) so expect natural hazards (mud, roots, rocks, etc).

Notes:

1. Bring a snack to stop at one of the lovely picnic spots along the brook.
2. Slow down and read some of the posted messages. They might just brighten your day.
3. A very short single track has been built behind the school. If you brought your mountain bike, check it out.

New signs make navigation much easier.

Sign at the trail head.

This Great Ride combines Circuit C with with Route 535 and an unmarked multi-use trail.  Add other Circuits if you want a longer ride.  Note:  most of the roads do not have a paved shoulder but traffic volume is low to moderate.
